Your backstage pass to my speaker life AND the best questions
People often say I look calm when I step on stage. The word “look” is doing a lot of heavy lifting there…
This week, I’m sharing the reality of 24 hours as a speaker: two very different keynotes, two brilliant clients, two unique venues, plus all the setup, prep, travel, and fuelling in between.
If you’ve worked with me before, you’ll spot Elaine, who plays a big role behind the scenes, getting a moment in the spotlight in her new favourite place.
The first talk was for TSK, on the latest work trends, the third time I’ve done this for them over the past few years.
The second was a bespoke keynote for SAP at their #HRConnect conference in London — my second year running at the event.
One of the stories I shared was about a company that brought two very different teams together using something unexpected: the 36 Questions That Lead to Love.
Really.
Here are a few:
Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?
Would you like to be famous? In what way?
Before making a phone call, do you ever rehearse what you're going to say? Why?
What would constitute a "perfect" day for you?
When did you last sing to yourself? And to someone else?
If you could live to 90 and retain either the mind or body of a 30-year-old for the last 60 years, which would you choose?
We tried them live in the room and the energy was ⚡️ ELECTRIC. Since then, I’ve had a stream of emails with people’s answers (number 6 seems to be a firm favourite).
Would you ever try something like this in a work setting? Or do you have better questions?
Enjoy the behind-the-scenes…
Christine
